The Children Suffered

The Children Suffered

We left my house August third at 5 a.m.

It was on a Monday.

Some in the group were Quiche.

I traveled with my son

and two of my friends.

We passed through Carmelita and Vera Cruz.

At one point on the walk

we crawled under a bus.

It was difficult to breathe.

It was so hot.

The children suffered.

We arrived at a small town.

We stayed four days.

They did not feed us.

The children suffered.

We left in the back of a truck trailer.

It was 7 a.m.

Without food.

Without water.

We were in the trailer

One day and one night.

Without food.

Without water.

We arrived at Reynosa at 9 p.m.

We stayed two days.

Then we crossed the river.

Immigration picked us up at 2 p.m.

They took us to the hielera.

Then the perrera.

Then family detention.

We are here to request asylum.
